Tattoo Boo Boo Makes My Week

I was going to avoid writing about Hayden Panettiere's tattoo boo boo until I read the following description of the starlet in the Sydney Morning Herald:
"More from Cannes and the world of celebrity irony, brought to you by blonde actress Hayden Panettiere - a woman described by some as a less attractive Miley Cyrus, which presumably means more genes from Billy Ray."
I'm not entirely sure what that means, or why it was necessary to add a Miley Cyrus reference to an article about a mis-spelled tattoo but it made me laugh to the point where I felt it necessary to share the wealth.
I know Hayden tried to be cool by writing Vivere senza rimipianti, it reads, with an extra 'i' in rimpianti (Italian for "live without regret"). It's certainly better than putting a Chinese character on your ankle (cliche). Honestly though, if I'm going to put something permanent on my body I'm going to be damn sure that I get it right. The only thing that could have made this situation funnier was if the misspelled word meant something else in Italian. Sadly that wasn't the case. Oh well. It looks like the "less attractive Miley Cyrus" will have to "live without regret" regarding her permanent error.

BEST. NEWS. EVER.

I was disappointed when I first heard that Zac Efron gave up the lead in the "Footloose" remake. Now I'm thinking it was the best move he ever made.
It has been confirmed that Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford has been given the lead. Let's put it this way...this is like finding out on your 21 first birthday that your first legal pull at a slot machine just netted you 1,000 dollars. Ok, maybe not quite, but I still think this is the best news out of Hollywood since...well I can't think of anything to compare it to right now because I'm still in euphoria.
Chace will join an already star-filled lineup which includes "Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and "Dancing With the Stars" pro dancer Julianne Hough", according to US Weekly.
If you are as big a fan of this news as I mean then keep checking back because I promise I'll find every update possible to post on the EBUZZ blog. Thank God it's coming out next year so the wait won't be for too ridiculously long.

Sizzling Fall Celebs

FHM has just released their list of the hottest fall stars, and you may be surprised at some of the names on their list.
The "Hottest Star for Fall" award didn't go to the blonde bombshell of the CW's hit serious "Gossip Girl", but instead to her sizzling co-star, Leighton Meester.
While "Gossip Girl" has already aired a few new episodes this season, some of the other stars on the hot list, have yet to premiere their shows.  Hayden Panettiere of "Heroes", Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory" and Eva Longoria Parker of "Desperate Housewives" also made the list.

Hayden a Real-Life Hero?

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was recently given the Gretchen Wyler Award by the Humane Society for her attempts to save the dolphins.
Last year Panettiere joined a group that paddled into the ocean on surfboards in attempts to stop fishermen in Southwest Japan from killing the dolphins in order to stop them from eating their catch.
Hayden's parents and much older beau Milo Ventimiglia were on hand to help honor the star. Hayden was so flattered that she broke down in tears and required a post-acceptance bathroom session to regain her composure. Don't worry, it gets better...
Hayden was quoted afterwards as saying, "There are people who dedicate their entire lives to preserving the environment and defending animals, they are so much more deserving of something like this."
HOW TRUE IS THAT?!

Oh well, better Hayden than Paris Hilton. Had she won that award I might have vomited.

Dolphin Drama and Oprah's new favorite thing

So "Heroes" Hayden Panettiere tried to be a hero...and as a result has a warrant out for her arrest.
The teen starlet made a trip to Japan recently to help save dolphins from fisherman. Her escapade was caught on tape and a tearful Hayden made for some great entertainment news drama. Her actions, however, have prompted legal action. Hayden doesn't seem too worried and says that it would be worth it even if she did suffer consequences.

And, from one teen starlet to another...Oprah Winfrey is showing off one of her favorite things this Wednesday...MILEY CYRUS. I know, I'm sick of talking about her too...but she's just THAT popular right now. I figure if Oprah loves her, than it's ok for Ebuzz to love her too. Miley will be bringing dad Billy Ray along for the show. I wonder what surprises will be in store for audience members. I suppose just getting tickets to see the tween queen was gift enough (seeing as how concert tickets are selling out in seconds and going for thousands of dollars).
Bottom line: It's good to be Miley Cyrus.

More proof good parenting key to starlets success?

According to Amanda Bynes, in an Access Hollywood interview, good parenting is one of the key reasons she has yet to follow in the footsteps of the Lindsay Lohans of the world...and doesn't intend to.
Bynes said that her parents were strict growing up...and that helped keep her out of trouble. She said she'd love to see what would happen if Lindsay tried living under her roof for a while.
I admit I haven't always been a huge Amanda fan (can you blame me? Her big gig growing up was the Amada show!). But, in recent roles, I've had to admit she has talent...and she has her head on straight...an admirable quality. Bynes skills transcend to fashion where she has a new line featured at Steve and Barrys---and all her goods are under 20 bucks (a college kids dream right?).
With the recent success of Hairspray I hope Bynes can find a solid niche in the acting world and get some of the more mature Hollywood roles out there. By the looks of it her next role will be similar to those of her past (She's the Man, What a Girl Wants, etc.) It's called Sydney White...and it's supposed to be Snow White meets the Greek system. Why do I have a feeling it won't be winning any awards? Then again...neither did Hilary Duff's A Cinderella Story and that racked it in at the box office. We'll just have to see.
Speaking of Ms. Duff...she is on the cover of Seventeen this month...and the article is worth a read. Duff has had a tougher year than most (even I felt bad for her---the cynic that I am) and much of it has flown under the radar in the midst of the Lindsay-Paris-Nicole hooplah. This girl deserves some props for not falling off the deepend. I won't spoil it with the details.
Now for my quick rant of the day...why is Hayden Panettierre getting all sorts of attention lately? Granted Heroes was awesome...but it is on vacation right now and in the mean time I haven't heard hyde nor hair of another Hayden project worthy of note. It seems like every gossip source still has her picture plastered on its site though. OMG! on Yahoo! had pictures of Hayden walking down the beach, then at a restaurant with boyfriend Stephen Colletti. I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. When she does a successful film (sorry but her role in Remember the Titans wasn't big enough to count) then I'll be cool with all the publicity. So far I like Hayden...I just hope all the publicity doesn't go to her head and turn her into a Lindsay (the two were reportedly friends for a while).
Well there you have it folks. Let me know what you think. Shoot those emails my way via wolv.ebuzz@umich.edu.

LA LOHAN LOWDOWN IS BACK!!!

Is it bad that I got extremely excited when I read the AP wire today and saw that Lindsay was arrested...AGAIN!!! How awesome is it that the newly 21 year old STILL couldn't stay out of trouble and was arrested for driving under the influence AND posession of cocaine?! Her publicist must be loving this! (If you haven't noticed this blog is DRIPPING with sarcasm. Well...that last line could go both ways...I'll explain in a bit). So Linds has a new movie coming out. If you didn't know that already you'll surely know that soon seeing as how people are going to flock to theatres just to see a movie they don't care about just because the aforementioned starlet is in it.
Now lets get serious. In all honesty I think jail would be Lindsay's best bet. She needs more help than the Promises rehab center could give her. Heck she was WEARING an alcohol detecting bracelet when she got smashed. She has a sliver of talent and she could use that to establish a serious career if she weren't so busy snorting coke. What gets me is that this incident will probably not seriously hurt her career enough to make her change her ways. She will still land roles due soley to her popularity. Stars that deserve the media attention (Hayden Panettiere, Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Brittany Snow...etc.) won't get it because they (hopefully) won't be going to jail anytime soon. Hopefully Hollywood will pull its head out of its butt and realize the future is in the hands of the good girls of Hollywood. There are a number of talented people that can/have successfully market themselves and do so in a positive light. Movie makers will soon see that it is a lot easier to market movies with those stars in them than films with the Lindsay's of the world. Parents don't want their kids idolizing girls like Lindsay. And as Disney has proven...those kids are the ones spending money on movies and their associated memorabilia. Look at the Miley Cyrus machine that I have previously mentioned. Or the Hilary Duff brand that is giving the Mary Kate and Ashley franchise a run for its money. Notice Lindsay hasn't scratched the surface in those areas. She hasn't continued a pursuit of a music career (meanwhile Hilary's on her fourth solo album, not to mention a handful of soundtrack appearances, and Miley has set a record for her Hannah Montana releases...by the way Hayden is coming out with a solo release in the VERY near future.) Lindsay is becoming almost impossible to market because she hasn't roped in a constant target audience. You can't go from Herbie Fully Loaded to A Prairie Home Companion and expect audiences to follow you. You have to build them and to do that you need to build trust. I doubt she'll be doing much of that from her newly undisclosed rehab center.
I want Linds to get better. Addiction is a deadly disease and I feel for anyone who suffers from it. I don't feel sorry for her. She brought this upon herself...but I do feel bad because what she is going through is magnified by her status in the press. She has to work extra hard to undo the damage she has caused.
What's your take on Lindsay's situation? Let me know... send an email to wolv.ebuzz@umich.edu
