Miley Twitter Mania

I only wish that someday I will be of enough importance that when I delete my Twitter page it will cause a national entertainment news debacle. Ok, maybe not.
But that is what happened to Miley Cyrus. After a tweet mentioned how her "not boyfriend" (read: yes they're dating) Liam Hemsworth wanted her to delete her Twitter account, just like that the whipped little Disney princess did just that.
Personally I thought cyber-space was better off... but alas the entertainment and tween world stopped rotating at the thought that their number one source of celeb gossip couldn't communicate with them on a semi-personal level. Thus the crazy Twitter debacle ensued.
Leave it up to Miley's dad to use the very site she withdrew from to try and entice her to come back:
RT @billyraycyrus Words can hurt worse than bullets True. All the more reason to take this tool and tweet

RT @billyraycyrus I understand "it is true one bad apple spoils the bunch".But listen to the words of your songs "Stand... for what ya believe in"...Remember?

RT @billyraycyrus Miley. You are a light in a world of darkness. You were born"Destiny Hope Cyrus" for a reason. You can't leave everyone now.We r countin on u

So my question is this... is there a PR person in the background encouraging Billy Ray to get his daughter back in cyberspace? If I were Miley's PR person I'd be wanting her to get back on Twitter...it's free and easy shameless self-promotion. My guess is that it won't be long until @mileycyrus is back up and running again.

CMT Roundup. Yee Haw!

The CMT country music awards were last night. If you didn't tune in to see Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus host the much hyped shin-dig fear not, we've got the recap below:

*18-year old Taylor Swift took home the top prize for Video Of the Year. Her hit "Our Song"had the video that put her over the top.
*It's all about the former Idols. We mostly hear about Carrie Underwood's country success, but last night it was Kellie Pickler who took home three awards: Breakthrough Video, Tearjerker Video and Performance of the Year.
*Bon Jovi knows how to pick 'em. Last year he collaborated with Sugarland. This year he teamed up with LeAnn Rymes. Both times he was a winner for Best Collaborative Video.
*Other winners on the night included Rascal Flatts, Trace Atkins, and Sugarland.

* The most entertaining part of the show came at the beginning of the night when a taped segment aired featuring presidential candidates all vying for Hannah Montana tickets. Trust me, it's worth a watch!

Miley Makes her Mark

It seems like the tween queen already has it all: top albums, a hit TV show, hot selling merchandise, and a movie on the way. But, now it's clear Miley Cyrus is more than just a super-star...she's a TRADEMARK. According to PerezHilton.com, the star officially filed to protect and trademark "Miley" with regards to a plethora of goods and services. I wonder if Billy Ray will ever try to Trademark his mullet? That would rock my world.

Thank you Miley for further clarifying your relationship to Billy Ray...

OMG! reports that Miley Cyrus has officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus in a nod to her famous father. As if she weren't successful enough on her own, Miley wants to be sure to solidify the connection that could potential grasp other fans. Wikipedia has already changed her official name on their site. Impressive.
Honestly is that necessary? On the one hand I'm thinking to myself, "aww that's cute, Miley's paying tribute to her dad. How great is their father-daughter relationship!" and on the other hand I'm thinking, "gag me with a spoon. Just tell him you love him. Hell you already followed in the family business and you have returned the favor by revamping a washed up career."
She could pay homage to her father by going by the name he gave her at birth: Destiny Hope Cyrus. No, that'd be too easy (besides Miley is way cooler).
The name change comes with some other changes recently for Miley. I mean she did die her hair. Look out, next thing you know she'll be changing boyfriends too (she's currently dating one of the Jonas Brothers, by the way).
Also, would it not suck to be one of her siblings? What are they going to do to honor their dad now.

OOOH!!!! I figured out the Hilary Duff thing...(I knew I'd come up with it eventually. I'm blonde so it took me a little longer than most). She's on the Forbes list for top female musicians. She is the youngest on the list at only 20 and joins the company of Madonna and Celine Dion.
