The Office Post- Superbowl Extravaganza
Having a spot after the Superbowl is pretty lucrative for any television show, so high expectations are sure to be attached. Luckily for The Office, they went above and beyond. For those of you who enjoy the show, you know there have been many episodes that left you with a pain in your stomach from laughing so hard. I never really thought anything could top last season's "Dinner Party" however "Stress Relief" was the funniest. ever. Every single character had several hilarious lines and Steve Carell was really on his game. For me, being the hopeless romantic I am, really loved the Jim/Pam goodness. Best fictional couple, EVER. In addition to being absolute insanity, they also debuted a new opening credit sequence, which featured everyone from the cast, plus a few great clips, which was a great upgrade. Although certain characters are more dominant than others, the show wouldn't be what it is without every single member of the cast. Here's what I've discovered about the aforementioned, ill conceived, 10 Things I Hate About You re-make. Gil Junger, the director of the movie, will direct the pilot of the series WHICH TOTALLY INTENDS TO RIP THE MOVIE OFF.

"10 Thing I Hate About You" TV Show Say What?
You can say that I'm a fan of 10 Things I Hate About You. What defines fan, you ask?
*I have basically the entire movie memorized.
*I can recite the poem that Julia Stiles reads at the end and cry at the appropriate time
*It's the only film I own in BOTH VHS and DVD
I'm not psychotic, just indebted. 10 Things was the perfect film at the perfect time for me. It came out when I was in junior high. It was a film about finding yourself during the time I was trying to, well, find myself. It put Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles on the map. It made singing sexy (thanks again Heath). It made Shakespear slightly cool. And it made everyone want Allison Janney to be their guidance councilor.
Now I see on Variety that ABC Family has given a ten episode order to a TV series of the same title! This is blasphemy! Heath Ledger is rolling over in his grave at the thought. I can't imagine a scenario in which this is ok.
And yet, as I write this, I realize I'm old and thus there is an entire generation who probably haven't even seen the movie which had such an impact on my existence. Even so, some things should just be left alone.
Emma Watson: On Being Sexy
Emma Watson, best known for her role as the overachieving (that's what I use instead of nerd considering my friends tell me I fall into that same category) Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise told a British magazine that being sexy, well, isn't all that sexy.
The young star claims that during photo shoots she's constantly being prodded to change her hair cut or color, wear more revealing clothing, and look sexier. Watson's response:
"Personally, I don't actually think it’s even that sexy. What's sexy about saying, 'I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt … have a look at everything I've got'?All I can say here is kudos to her. She could have folded under the pressure of being a young star (read: Lindsay Lohan, Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears) and instead has held her own. In my opinion that shows that this is one actress with longevity who should easily outlast her Harry Potter days.

More "New Moon" Casting Non-Sense
Twilight fans have been left in a limbo after the initial thrill of the series, and now the dust settling around the first film. As a result they've had nothing better to do than speculate about the casting for the next film in the franchise: New Moon.
At first fans got their shorts in a knot when Vanessa Hudgens was named as a possible character, then came news that Dakota Fanning was offered a part. The Dakota rumor was given more juice this week when Privileged star Lucy Hale (you've also seen her in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2) said she auditioned for the same role as Fanning and was confident that Fanning was offered the role.
Both Hale and Fanning read for the role of Jane. While I understand this is major casting news, I don't understand why people care nearly so much. Jane is not even that substantial of a character in New Moon. That doesn't mean that Hollywood WON'T make Jane into a substantial character in the movie version. Three quarters of New Moon focus on the relationship triangle between Edward, Bella, and Jacob.
The key is for people not to have a coronary quite yet. Dakota Fanning may not be the ideal Jane in reader's eyes, but Hollywood has worked miracles in the past, and her insignificance as a character may result in her being overlooked in favor of the important roles (like Jacob) anyway.
